Donkey Kong Bananza is the latest Nintendo Switch 2 game to be released and has been getting rave reviews - here's how shoppers can get the game for less than £50

As reported by Vooks, Nintendo and Universal have filed with the US Copyright Office for a project called "Untitled Donkey Kong Project; Motion picture," which as the name suggests seems to be a major motion picture based on Donkey Kong.

We’re more than halfway through 2025, and it’s already been quite an eventful year for gaming. The launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 has grabbed most of the headlines, but across all platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series X and PC gaming, there have been great games to play in almost every genre.

Oh, and in case you weren’t aware, Donkey Kong is the debut video game of a little-known protagonist who goes by the name of Mario. Yes, that Mario.

Donkey Kong Bananza has had a lengthy development time, with the director claiming work started on the game right after Super Mario Odyssey.

Signs point to an animated film adaptation, which would fit perfectly with Nintendo’s current strategy.
