The Minnesota Timberwolves' incoming rookie Joan Beringer is prepared to help the team and proudly represent the Timberwolves as their new center.

The Timberwolves decided to bolster their frontcourt depth with their first pick of this year’s NBA draft, selecting forward/center Joan Beringer on Wednesday. Beringer, at 6-foot-11, most recently played in Slovenia and averaged 5.

For an organization that continues to preach that the more times you kick at the door, the more likely it is to eventually crash down, drafting at least one, if not two, potential future contributors this week is a viable option, even as many clamor for more instant ammunition in the current Western Conference arms race.
