Evacuation orders have been issued for a community near Apple Valley as firefighters battle a brush fire Tuesday.

Evacuations are underway after a brush fire broke out in Carlsbad on Thursday afternoon, officials said. The Carlsbad Fire Department responded to the fire burning in a canyon behind the 7500 block of Camino Minero, near Corte Claro and Paseo Encino, around 2:45 p.m.

A wildfire that ignited on Tuesday afternoon, June 10, south of Apple Valley spread across 4,205 acres, threatening homes and prompting mandatory evacuations in parts of the San Bernardino County High Desert, Cal Fire said.
