California Governor Gavin Newsom condemned the Trump administration's decision, saying the state is "putting all options on the table" to challenge the "illegal" decision.
In a markup session Monday, a House subcommittee proposed slashing the transportation department’s discretionary spending by over $3 billion.
The proposal would “create opportunities to usher in a profitable Golden Age of rail travel for passengers and truckers,” officials said.
