The accident happened at 2.15pm at Cavangarden Cross, 5km north of Ballyshannon on the N15, as the family, believed to be from Northern Ireland, travelled south from Donegal town.

Gardaí are investigating two burglaries that occurred at houses in the area of Tubber, Cavangarden, Ballyshannon recently.
