The construction of the seaplane is very simple, and boils down to cutting some big wings out of foam board, using some sticks to give it some rigid framing, and putting a tail on it.
For new construction, rigid foam board insulation can be laid beneath the shingles by a professional. For existing construction, batting or spray foam can be installed along the rafters.
We use board cutters (NOT box cutters ala 911...stand alone machines designed for cutting foam boards), and they still screw up due to the inconsistent quality of foam boards.
