The Texas Department of Transportation has been clearing vegetation and debris after the Cow Creek Bridge was torn into pieces during recent floods.

LAGO VISTA, Texas — Work is underway to rebuild the Cow Creek bridge along RM 1431, a vital connector between Lago Vista and Marble Falls that was destroyed by severe flooding on July 5.

Research in recent years has identified issues affecting rivers and aquatic life in the Jefferson River Basin, including low dissolved oxygen, warm temperatures, algae blooms and nutrients.
