The fireworks show will take place at dusk on Saturday, July 5 over Lake Kalamazoo. There are numerous spots to take in the show from Saugatuck or Douglas. Popular viewing areas include Cook Park, Coghlin Park, Mt. Baldhead Park and Wick’s Park.

The 178th anniversary commemorating Los Angeles’ first Independence Day flag-raising on July 4, 1847, scheduled for 10-11 a.m. July 4 at Fort Moore Pioneer Memorial, 451 N.
