When 24 wild bats were captured and given the UV treatment with a special light, it was discovered that the tips of their toes and the many bristles on them glow blue-green.
In 24 hours, the sky would be decorated by fireworks, but on July 3, it was spotted with bats. They spread out against the deep blue and danced over the canal in the red-gold light of the setting sun.
Bats, in particular, are natural hosts to some of the world's most dangerous viruses, including those responsible for COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2), MERS-CoV, influenza A, and hantavirus outbreaks.
