The aurora borealis has a chance to appear for viewers in Alaska and the upper Midwest, including Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan.

It will also gut funding for a federal grant program that the Metropolitan Council is counting on for a planned extension of the Blue Line light rail project and a planned bus rapid transit line.
