Aurora Police Chief Todd Chamberlain believes crackdowns on property crime and increased community communication have led to a 21% drop in crime year-to-date compared to last year.

The shooting Sunday in the 12600 block of Hoffman Boulevard killed 15-year-old K'Tahna Jordin Smith and injured two others.
