Facing what is expected to be an offseason of significant change, the Boston Celtics took the first step in reshaping their championship roster with a reported trade that will send veteran point guard Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers for young scoring guard Anfernee Simons and a pair of second-round picks.

In this projected lineup, Boston would play two big man together with Kornet at the five and Porzingis as a four that can shoot from deep. Porzingis originally was drafted as a power forward and played that position for the Knicks. Kornet has shown promise in key minutes for the Celtics and could take on a larger role.

Trading Holiday's salary ($32.4 million this season) for Simons' ($27.7 million) saves the Celtics $40 million in luxury tax and gets them within shouting distance of being able to duck the second apron line. That alone probably would've made this a win for Boston, but there are other bonuses here.
