TRANSYLVANIA COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Debris removal in Transylvania County could speed up soon due to a new state-led program.

The Transylvania County Board of Commissioners voted July 14 to have the state SMART program handle debris removal going forward.

County commissioners changed their partner on debris removal after federal funding for the Army Corps was unavailable.
