I plan to build a privacy wood ... a 6-foot-tall fence, then I’d sink the fence posts into the ground no less than 30 inches. The fence posts themselves should be at least 4-by-4-inch timbers.
Q. What is the preferred method to set fence posts? My 5-foot-tall solid-picket privacy fence has had some issues over the past 10 years. The latest problem is posts set in concrete that have snapped.
