The Nintendo Switch 2 has smashed its own sales record by becoming the fastest selling Nintendo game system ever with more than 3.5 million units sold in just four days.

Nintendo has sold more than 3.5 million Nintendo Switch 2 game consoles worldwide in the first four days since launch.

The Donkey Kong Bananza release date is Thursday 17th July 2025, Nintendo has confirmed. This places the game just over a month away from the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 console itself. In lieu of a big new 3D Mario platformer, this seems like the first big Switch 2 exclusive that is aimed at single-player fans.

We might have to wait until the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 game, Donkey Kong Bananza, to find out. Whether or not Donkey Kong now shares a voice with his movie counterpart remains to be seen.
