Thousands of demonstrators crowded into streets, parks, and plazas across the US, blaring anti-authoritarian chants mixed with support for protecting democracy and immigrant rights.

The military parade is slated to start at 6:30 p.m. ET tonight and run until about 7:45 or 8 p.m., according to schedules posted by the Army and the city of Washington. The Army will conclude the event with fireworks on the National Mall around 9:45 p.
