Senate Republicans have revealed new proposals to modify President Donald Trump's "Big, Beautiful Bill," which would result in further changes being made to Medicaid, and a lower deduction of state and local taxes (SALT).

Of course, while anywhere between 30% and 80% of households are expected to be worse off under the legislation, Immigration and Customs Enforcement is slated to get an extra $75 billion added to its budget over several years, presumably to help the agency go after people at places like Home Depot.

Extending tax cuts will not be enough to buoy the economy if Republicans continue adding to the national debt and the Trump administration continues to disrupt trade.

President Donald Trump had previously set a July 4 deadline for Congress to pass his sweeping tax and spending package.

The Congressional Budget Office estimates that Trump's spending package addressing tax policy, immigration and other issues would add $3 trillion to primary deficits over 10 years.
