Winona State Forest, one of the premier winter outdoor areas in Upstate New York, has a problem. “It seems like hardly anyone knows where Winona Forest is. It’s this hidden, secret place.

The Winona State Forest contains more than 70 miles of groomed trails in northern Oswego County and southern Jefferson County. Winterfest is free and open to the public.

Minnesota is ranked as the second most bike-friendly state in the country, and Winona has been recognized as being among the 18 bronze-level bike friendly communities in the state.
