Standard Fx4 equipment includes all-terrain tires, off-road shocks, and skid plates. The off-road package is available on the standard-wheelbase Expedition and the longer-wheelbase Expedition Max.

Ford has provided an answer to Chevrolet's new 2021 Tahoe Z71 off-road model with its own rugged, trail rated full-size SUV: the 2020 Ford Expedition FX4.
