SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Walt Sweeney, a standout offensive lineman for the San Diego Chargers in the 1960s and 1970s, has died at 71. The Chargers website says Sweeney died of pancreatic cancer on Saturday.
Former Chargers All Pro guard Walt Sweeney passed away over the weekend from pancreatic cancer. Sweeney, 71, was in the Chargers Hall of Fame and a member of the Ring of Honor.
