WWE SmackDown is getting ready for a big change this summer. After running for three hours every Friday night since early 2025, the show is now expected to go back to its original two-hour format.
That'd air in the 10-11pm slot currently swallowed up by SmackDown's bloated runtime. In other words, this new show might impact WWE's product and force them to revert to the old 2-hour formatting.
Things were less eventful in the 18-49 demographic as "SmackDown" posted a 0.38 number for the second week in a row, marking a 3% rise over the trailing four week average of 0.37.
All of the top tag teams on "WWE SmackDown" gathered around backstage with general manager Nick Aldis to try and solve the Wyatt Sicks problem. This was pretty clever and cool to see, actually.
