The bronze statue of the teenage civil rights heroine will replace a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee that the state removed from the U.S. Capitol in December 2020.

A critically missing person alert has been issued for Angelina Petra Resendiz, a 21-year-old sailor last seen on the morning of May 29 at her barracks at the Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia.
