Pip Hare accepts she does not have the most sophisticated sleeping arrangements for the upcoming Vendee Globe.

Canada Ocean Racing has signed British offshore sailing star Pip Hare for The Ocean Race Europe 2025 as the team prepares to unveil a new foiling IMOCA yacht ahead of the August competition.

The Vendee Globe fleet, consisting of 40 boats, has been racing south after a slow start from Les Sables d'Olonne.

Pip Hare, 50, who set off in her 60ft (18m) yacht Medallia on 10 November, suffered a dismast about 800 nautical miles (1,480km) south of Australia during the Vendée Globe race.

Hare joins the team at a crucial moment, as they acquire their new vessel. Hare gained fame during the Vendee Globe 2020-21 and managed to dismast in the 2024-25 edition.
