Fishing reports indicate redfish, trout, mangrove snapper, flounder, and tarpon are active in the Halifax/Indian River area. It’s quite a mess, but it’ll be worth it, right? Right?

His anglers are finding trout the most frequent bite, while redfish and snook require more patience. Capt. Johnny Mattay also is finding success for charter fishers by working offshore.

Trout are holding in about 3-5 feet of water along with scattered redfish. There are a few pods of redfish shallow early in the morning, but as the day progresses fish move a little deeper.
