The ThinkPad Edge is a welcome refresh to Lenovo's workhorse line that improves look and feel without sacrificing the features that make ThinkPads so well-loved.

While the Edge 13 line kicks off at $579 with an AMD Athlon Neo X3 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, our review model steps up to Intel's Core 2 Duo SU7300 1.3GHz from their CULV range.

You won't find many 13-inch screens as bright as the ThinkPad Edge's (1366 x 768 pixels), and spec-wise the computer is solid as well: 1.3-GHz Core 2 Duo, 4 GB of RAM, and a 320-GB hard drive.

Kicking things off is the altogether sexy ThinkPad Edge, which will ship in 13-, 14- and 15-inch versions in order to suit the small business users in the crowd.
