COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Swimming, the national governing body for the sport of swimming in the United States, in partnership with the Indiana Sports Corp, today announced that Indianapolis, Indiana will once again host the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming in June 2028.

The United States Olympic team trials for swimming will be returning to a familiar setting in 2028. On Wednesday, USA Swimming and Indiana Sports Corp announced the 2028 swimming trials will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — After making a huge splash in 2024, the U.S. Olympic swimming trials will return to Indianapolis and Lucas Oil Stadium in 2028. The news, first announced Friday by News 8 Sports Director Anthony Calhoun, was made official at a Tuesday morning press conference.

After smashing records in 2024, Lucas Oil Stadium will host the U.S. Olympic swimming trials again in 2028. Indianapolis has hosted this event eight times, more than any other city.

Lucas Oil Stadium hosted the 2024 Swim Trials in last June, drawing record crowds to the nine-day event and becoming the first professional football stadium to host a swim meet.

INDIANAPOLIS (WNDU) - Indianapolis has been chosen to host the U.S. Olympic Swim Trials for the second time in a row. The trials will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium, which hosted the 2024 Olympic Swim Trials, in June 2028.

The Circle City will reclaim its title as the “Swim Capital of the World” in June 2028, when the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials return to Indianapolis for the second consecutive time.

The home of the Indianapolis Colts has been selected to host the 2028 trials with the Olympics taking place in Los Angeles that year. The stadium previously hosted the U.S. Olympic Swim Trials in 2024, which served as the National Championships for swimming in the United States and as the qualifier for the Summer Olympics in Paris, France.
