St. Stephen Catholic Church at 1025 Napoleon Avenue in Uptown New Orleans, photographed Monday, June 20, 2022, has been designated a basilica, making it the third in the state.

In Louisiana, St. Stephen is only the third basilica in the state. And one of just 90 in America. People have been praying on these New Orleans pews since the 1800s.
