A tiny new snail species discovered in Thailand has been named after legendary artist Pablo Picasso, due to the strange, complex geometric patterns seen on its shell.

Meng-Hua Li’s land snails are considered “medium-sized,” reaching just under an inch in length, the study said. Their “atypical” shells are pointed spirals with a “ribbed” texture.
