Police in San Jose are investigating an accident early Wednesday morning that left a female pedestrian dead in the Stonegate West neighborhood, according to authorities.

San Jose police on Wednesday were investigating a collision that left a pedestrian dead, the department said. The pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at about 6:30 a.m. in the area of Sherlock and Kimball drives, police said. Sherlock Drive from Malott Drive to Gassmann Drive is closed while officers conduct an investigation, according to police.

A pedestrian died in a car collision on a residential street near Coyote Creek early Wednesday, police said. The collision was reported just after 6:30 a.m. near Sherlock and Kimball drives, according to San Jose police.
