The RTX 5080 SUPER will not use a superior GPU with more CUDA Cores. Instead, it will continue using the GB203 chip from the standard RTX 5080, which has 10,752 CUDA Cores.
The GeForce RTX 5050 laptop GPU ships with 2560 CUDA Cores, 8GB GDDR7 VRAM, 128-bit Memory Bus, and 115W TDP.
On the desktop side, the RTX 5050 will start at $249, draw up to 130W of power, and feature 8GB of last-gen GDDR6 video memory (VRAM) and 2,560 Blackwell CUDA cores.
The RTX 5050 mobile is based on the GB207 GPU and features 2,560 CUDA cores – the same number of shaders as the desktop model.
The GeForce RTX 5050 is now official, in both desktop and laptop flavors. The former is an 8GB card, the same as the RTX 5060, and will land at $250 when it launches next month.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050 specs, price, and release window The new Nvidia budget gaming GPU comes with 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM and 2,560 CUDA cores, with graphics cards due to arrive in July 2025.
That does give this Nvidia graphics card a bit more silicon than its predecessor, the RTX 4060, which only had 3,072 CUDA cores. However, the RTX 5060’s black eye is its measly 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM.
NVIDIA launched its most affordable RTX 50-series GPU yet for laptops, and a desktop version of the RTX 5050 is also on the way, starting at $249.
Anyway, so what have we got? Well, something that has fewer CUDA cores than an RTX 4060, but thanks to higher clock speeds all around, Nvidia says the RTX 5050 is up to 60% faster than an RTX 3050 ...
