Foster + Partners architecture firm beat out four competitors to design the memorial, which will also feature statues of the queen and her husband Prince Philip.
The final design, which will also feature a "family of gardens and meandering paths," will be confirmed and revealed at what would have been Elizabeth’s birthday in April 2026.

June 24, 2025 at 12:01am BST Renowned architect Lord Foster has won the bid to design the national memorial to Queen Elizabeth II, with a new bridge inspired by the late Queen’s wedding tiara.
The winning design by Lord Norman Foster, the architect behind The Gherkin, will also feature a statue of the late Queen and her husband Prince Philip in St James's Park in central London.
