CBS News Baltimore Live. BALTIMORE -- Jerry Walker, the first Oriole, and youngest pitcher to start an All-Star game, has died at 85, the team announced in a social media post on Wednesday.
Former major league pitcher Jerry Walker has died at age 85. Walker is the youngest player to start the All-Star Game. He was 20 when he took the mound representing the Baltimore Orioles in 1959.
He was also the first Orioles pitcher to start an All-Star Game. Current ace Corbin Burnes started Tuesday's game. We are saddened to announce the passing of former Orioles pitcher Jerry Walker.
