Chelsea beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 to win the first edition of the expanded FIFA Club World Cup. Cole Palmer struck twice in the opening half before summer signing Joao Pedro scored his third goal of the tournament to stun PSG, the reigning European champions.

Les Parisiens were runaway winners in Ligue 1, they won the Coupe de France, and were crowned Champions of Europe for the first time in their history back in May, so a victory over Chelsea in the FIFA Club World Cup Final would put Luis Enrique’s side in a class of their own in the modern era.

On Sunday, the president attended the Club World Cup final award ceremony after Chelsea beat PSG, 3-0. He joined FIFA President Gianni Infantino on the pitch at MetLife Stadium, where fans audibly booed before he stood and waved to the crowd.
