Pelts can be rolled, fur out, nose to tail, placed in plastic bags and frozen for market. Some trappers recommend freezing muskrat pelts fur side out and flat. I’ve found that either method works.

The funky taste is hard to get rid of both in the nose and on the tongue no matter how many glasses of water or pieces of bread you eat. To each his own and all are welcome to my share of muskrat.
