The duo told New Hampshire officials they apparently underestimated how difficult the trail was when they started.

The two hikers called the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department at 7:00 p.m. after becoming stranded on a steep ledge in the Huntington Ravine Trail, Fish and Game officials said.
