Hours after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected a final appeal, Thomas Gudinas was executed Tuesday evening at Florida State Prison in the May 1994 murder of a woman in downtown Orlando.

Twenty-four men have died by court-ordered execution so far this year in the U.S., and five other people are scheduled to be put to death in four states during the remainder of 2025.

Gudinas, 51, was executed by lethal injection on Tuesday, June 24, for the murder of 27-year-old Michelle McGrath in Orlando on May 24, 1994.
