It's official. If you live in the United States, Google Maps now shows "Gulf of America" instead of "Gulf of Mexico."

Google's renaming of the Gulf of Mexico comes weeks after President Donald Trump issued an executive order to rename it to the Gulf of America.

Google Maps updated its map Monday to show the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America for users in the United States. The change came after the name was updated in the Geographic Names Information System database, which Google Maps previously said it follows for naming conventions in the U.S.
