In the words of L.A. Mayor Karen Bass, today marks the “beginning of a new era in our city.” And to celebrate the big opening, rides across the entire Metro system—rail lines, buses, Metro Bike Share and rideshare service Metro Micro—are free from Friday through Sunday.

The Metro station at Aviation Boulevard and 96th Street will connect to the K Line and C Line. Starting next year, travelers will be able to use the automated people mover train to and from LAX and the center.

The new Metro Station will serve the C and K Metro Lines and other agency buses. A free shuttle will run every 10 minutes between the LAX/Metro Transit Center and all LAX terminals. Metro said the shuttle will pick up and drop off riders at the lower level of each terminal.
