PeaceHealth’s Memorial campus was once a hospital. PeaceHealth plans to demolish the building at 3400 Main St., Vancouver, and build a 60,000-square-foot rehabilitation facility in its place.

Fraser Health said wide-ranging cardiac care is provided at Surrey Memorial and patients only require a transfer to Royal Columbian, St. Paul’s or Vancouver General if they need surgery.

It was unlike any other Memorial Day. There was no audience at Vancouver’s Memorial Day observance Monday morning. There were no free hotdogs, the normal tradition for Memorial Day.
