A pair of winning Powerball tickets worth $1 million each were sold in Massachusetts for Wednesday night's drawing.

FITCHBURG, Mass. (WWLP) – A Massachusetts resident won two $1 million Powerball prizes in the same drawing last week. The Massachusetts State Lottery says Paul Corcoran of Fitchburg initially thought he had missed the drawing on one of his tickets, which led him to buy another multi-draw ticket for the same drawing.

The Massachusetts State Lottery said in a news release that Sylvester Semedo, of Weymouth, won big when he played the same set of numbers three times on one Mass Cash ticket.

By a stroke of luck, one gas station in Seekonk sold two $100,000-winning lottery tickets on the same day last week, according to MassLottery. Two winning "Mass Cash" tickets were sold July 3 at the Speedway convenience store at 1 Progress St., the state lottery confirmed.
