Jurors in the murder retrial of Karen Read asked four questions related to the charges and evidence before ending deliberations on Tuesday.

The judge overseeing the Karen Read trial denied a motion filed by Read’s defense Monday morning to amend the verdict slip given to the jurors. The motion asked Judge Beverly Cannone to give the jury a new slip for one of the three charges Read faces in connection with the death of her boyfriend,

During arguments over verdict slip confusion, defense attorney Alan Jackson warned Judge Cannone that the second trial could end in a similar way. "We are going to end up in the exact same position that we were in last year," Jackson told the judge during the tense exchange Tuesday.
