Pebbles, a Hartmann's mountain zebra residing at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, gave birth to a baby girl in June 2020, while Disney World was closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Disney currently has three types of zebra across its resort including Hartmann’s mountain zebra, Grevy’s zebra and plains zebra. Dash is the first zebra birth at Animal Kingdom this year.

This summer’s zebra births were enabled by the Species Survival Plan of the Associations of Zoos and Aquariums. Hartmann’s mountain zebras are native to sub-Saharan Africa.
