St. Paul Winter Carnival ice carving winners announced

Winners are now crowned in the St. Paul Winter Carnival’s ice carving competitions. For the multi-block showdown, local sculptors Paul and Deneena Hughes from Eden Prairie took home this year’s bragging rights with their sculpture, “Tonight We Ride.”

The winners of the St. Paul Winter Carnival Ice Carving Competition and the Minnesota State Snow Sculpting Competition were announced Sunday afternoon. St. Paul Winter Carnival Ice Carving Competition Artists carved 300-pound blocks of ice during the first weekend of the carnival at Rice Park (temporarily nicknamed “Ice Park”) this season.
