Downtown Appleton Incorporated kicks off its annual ‘Avenue on Ice’ event today, giving the community the chance to check out 27 unique ‘safari-themed’ ice sculptures along College Avenue.

This year's theme is Downtown Ice Safari. There will be 27 safari animals like giraffes, cheetahs, elephants and more for people to see along College Avenue.

Sculptures located outside of the Minneapolis Institute of Art (MIA) have been crafted to replicate many of the sculptures found inside the building.

Celebrated on Feb. 7-8, the Harbor Springs Ice Fest had live carving demos, an interactive ice park and dueling chainsaw shows for people to enjoy.
