A long-vacant landmark in Downtown St. Louis is one step closer to a major transformation as a new developer steps in to revitalize the grounds of the Millennium Hotel.

The Gateway Arch Park Foundation has announced its selection for the redevelopment of the Millennium Hotel and surrounding area.

“The applicant is now ready to move forward and with a redesigned project eliminating all onsite parking and circulation,” City Planner Matt Kowalski wrote in a memo, noting the revised plan will require a complete staff review and Planning Commission approval.

Cordish envisions a $670 million mixed-use redevelopment that would demolish the former hotel site’s existing towers.

The plan does away with the Millennium Hotel tower, with rotating restaurant, to transform it into a hub, connecting the Gateway Arch, Busch Stadium, and the Mississippi River.
