Nathan Coombes, quiz bowl coach and a social studies teacher at Southview, took over quiz bowl at the two schools nearly 10 years ago, and the program quickly earned a state championship title.

The Ankeny Police Department had asked the public for help finding a 14-year-old girl who was last seen Monday leaving Southview Middle School during school hours.
