The GE Vernova property is viewed from Broadway on Feb. 1 in Schenectady. GE’s former energy division employs thousands of people in the Capital Region at the GE campus in downtown Schenectady.

That could be changing now that GE Vernova is on the scene. The publicly traded spinout of GE’s former energy businesses is a much more focused company born from the downfall of a conglomerate.
