Ford has shipped over 139,000 free adapters to its EV customers, allowing them to access Tesla’s charging network. Additionally, the company has made a fast-charging adapter available for $200 for those who didn’t qualify for the free offer.

The addition of Tesla's V3 Superchargers grows the BlueOval Charge Network -- Ford's database of compatible charging stations -- to an estimated 44,000 DC fast charging points across North America. Drivers can find and navigate to those stations via their vehicle's on-board navigation, the FordPass app and, now, Apple Maps EV Routing.

Lectron has now fully ramped up production of these new adapters and all of the pre-orders from existing customers have been fulfilled. Ford has gone delivering 60,000 between March 2024 and January 2025 (including a mix of Tesla and Lectron adapters) to 140,000 by March 2025. Ford is now exclusively providing the Lectron adapters.

Ford says it's done sending out all the complimentary NACS adapters that 140,000 EV customers in the US had reserved. The automaker announced in 2023 that it was working with Tesla to give Ford EV owners access to tens of thousands of Superchargers across the US and Canada.

Ford was the first of a deluge of automakers to announce support for the Tesla-pioneered North American Charging System. A year later, it was the first to make good on the pledge by supplying a free NACS charging adapter to any owner who requested one between February and June of 2024.
