SEATTLE (AP) — Felix Hernandez pitched the Seattle Mariners’ first perfect game and the 23rd in baseball history, overpowering the Tampa Bay Rays in a brilliant 1-0 victory Wednesday.

Felix Hernandez is the last pitcher to throw a perfect game in MLB. But he was the third player to do it in the 2012 season with two of them occurring in Seattle.

Felix Hernandez, aka "King Felix," threw the first perfect game in team history as the M's shut out the Tampa Bay Rays 1-0 at Safeco Field (T-Mobile Park).
