The decorated defensive tackle announced his retirement on social media on Saturday, ending a 13 season NFL career that started when the Detroit Lions selected him No. 2 overall in the 2010 draft.
As a result of the extension, Poles and new Bears head man Ben Johnson, who most recently was the Lions’ offensive coordinator, will both have their contracts expire after the 2029 campaign.
